Happy rave y'all! Hope you are enjoying this holiday season! Obviously there are several big holidays happening this month but we all know the big one: it is birthday month!!! I really cherish my birthday because being alive absolutely fucking rules - if I'd never had a birthday (and I'm told it was a close thing lol) then I'd never have had the chance to experience any of the love and joy and music and fun that I've been so fortunate to enjoy for the past 43 years and 11 months.
And, let's be real, I'll take any excuse to party lol
So, without further ado, let's dive in to the raves and events coming up over the next month or so!

Curated by Resident DJ Keiko Ojima of Japan, Babylon is a biweekly journey into the future of DJ music: genre-bending sets, progressive sounds, and forward-thinking grooves designed to move both body and mind. With rotating international DJs and a vibe that feels part underground lounge, part cosmic playground, Babylon is where Toronto’s next wave of music culture begins.

Every year we take a good hard look at our scene. We see who's been moving the needle. Maybe it's their style. Maybe its how active they've been. Maybe they've put out a number of releases. Sometimes they've been busy organizing. Either way, we see who's been making waves and we put them on our stage. This event is about celebrating our own, no matter the subgenre, flavour or style.
We ask our teachers for the night to play their influences, to play the tracks that helped shape them, the ones that move them, the ones that define them and also to show us what's next. We encourage every DJ to step outside of their normal bounds and weave a sonic story for us all.

Every year, December is a month of birthday festivities for me, as you are no doubt aware both because I have already mentioned it and because I never shut up about it all month long lol. HOWEVER I'm not the only one with a December birthday! My dear friend Shay also celebrates their birthday in late December - and how could I possibly pass up the chance to do TWO birthday parties?
So please join me and Shay and a stacked lineup of talent for BIRTHDAY SHAY-NANIGANS on December 27th!

Typically I throw (several) birthday parties for myself but this year, with multiple work contracts and a toddler and another baby very close to arriving, I'm gonna be real, I'm pretty wiped out lol. Fortunately, DJ Niikkii Tee is keen to dive into throwing raves and asked me if she could throw a birthday party for me and of course I said yes!

Details still to come but I will be doing my VERY FIRST EVER DRAG PERFORMANCE this New Year's Even at The Wych and you DO NOT want to miss it. Does it involve cheesy singalong songs? Does it involve a ridiculous outfit that will make you question either my or your sexuality (possibly both)? Does it involve one or more sock puppets?
